Happy Hallo-Week!

I had a very strange dream the other night. I was watching a Charlie Brown cartoon. Linus was waiting, as he always does, in that cold, lonely pumpkin patch but no Great Pumpkin. Then up out of te shadows rose this weird multi-limbed pumpkin headed creature who could only be the Great Pumpkin...unfortunately Linus had already long ago expired. Death from waiting! Poor Linus!
I feel like my Great Pumpkin design owes a LOT to the art of Jay Stephens (in fact I'm partially convinced I've seen him draw something very much like it and that I've subconsciuosly stolen from him). Check out Jay's amazing art at his blog, and also on tv in his popular show SECRET SATURDAYS! I've got some cool Secret Saturdays toys. I love monsters!

A little warning before you see the next cartoon...Charlie Brown swears! Sorry!
Charlie Brown would never say that word. Again, poor Linus! Halloween just isn't his holiday!

Happy Halloween, ever'body!

Aces! I've eseen a number of cartoons wherein the Great Pumpkin is a monster, but this time he seems so innocent. And Linus died because of his own stubborn foolishness, which I think teaches us all an important lesson about temperance in rigid belief systems. I can only assume that that was your goal all along.

Goofing aside, I really like how well you captured the Peanuts gang without resorting to a Schultz swipe. Hats off, sir!

Ben - Iggzackly! The Great Pumpkin, like most "belief systems", knew not the evil his own ideology hath wrought!

I definitely didn't want to attempt Schulzies style...but do my own take on the kids! Glad you dug it!

Wow, these are GREAT! The other thing that's funny is that I, too, did a Peanuts-Halloween sketch in a mix of both Schulz's style and mine for my blog, too, though nothing nearly as awesome as these. Great job!

J,

I just wanted to thank you once again for your help with my inking techniques the other day!

I've posted my first new finished piece after your suggestions on my blog at -- http://timdemoor.blogspot.com/2009/11/lovesick.html, if you'd like to take a quick look at it.
